Tasty Crust in Wailuku

This is indeed a low key restaurant. Very local feel. Friendly staff. The fried chicken drumettes are fresh and delicious. Over medium eggs are slightly browned and crispy on the edge. Overall experience was very good.

Must get: Banana Pancakes and Loco Moco.Very authentic local hawaiian restaurant. Eating here, you feel like you discovered a local secret. No frills and affordable meal.

Just Amazing!! Cheap Prices Great Food!! Wish I would have found this place before my last day on the island. This place should be on Guys' DDD!!! Loco Moco was Dynamite!! The Korean style ribs were nice n tender!! Its off the beaten path and like an old school diner (nothing flashy) but you'll be glad you ate there!! The best eats I had on the island and it didnt break the bank!!!Loved it!! Wish they were in Vegas!!

It was really cool to walk into the diner and see nothing but locals smiling and enjoying their meal. I had "The Loco Moco" very good very satisfying and reasonable price! 😋💕

This local gem is a great spot to grab breakfast. Super friendly staff and excellent prices. The macadamia nut pancakes are wonderful but they do not top the gazebo of course. See my other reviews. Been going here for over 50 years. Mom & Pop establishment. Always a stop off point when I'm on the island. Lots of great memories and good food.

Every time I come to Maui I stop at this restaurant. What can I tell you it is just a fantastic down-home Hawaiian experience with employees who love their jobs. Best homemade food around and the prices are minimal. It’s in an industrial location but watching the waitresses dance to the jukebox make this a must stop. If you want to experience real Maui this is where you go!

Had dinner with friends who live in upcountry. She took us here for dinner. If your looking for great local restaurant with great food you need to come here. Not a tourist trap. Best boneless Korean ribs I have ever had.The chicken Katsu is unbelievable. The blue berry cream pie is to die for. If you want to experience real Hawaii you need to come here. Don't be intimidated if your not a local, your missing out. Everyone there is super nice.

Really low-key diner with good food and great service. I will say if you're used to big plate lunch portions, these plates might be a little small so be sure to ask if you're REALLY hungry.

Great service. They served breakfast all day. The blueberry pancake was incredible. Even on a day that I tried not eat too carb, I almost order a full stack after I shared half with my friend. Milkshake was also very good. I ordered pie as well. Pie was good though it wasn't made in house. Definitely worth a visit

Great little down home cafe/restaurant. Seating at table or at the counter on round rotating stools. Kinda reminds one of old soda shop seating. Breakfast all day and also lunch and dinner. Go and enjoy!!

One of the island’s best breakfast places. We drive 30 minutes to get some delish tasty crust. It’s always served with aloha from friendly staff. It’s truly Wailuku’s best kept secret. Don’t tell anyone, just sneak in and enjoy one of my favorites 🤙🏻

This old school diner is perfect for families, locals,and anyone looking for a good meal on the cheaps. I always get saimin when in Hawaii because it reminds me of being a kid on Oahu. Recommend getting the banana pancake here. I was lucky to get the macnut banana pancake special with macnut drizzle. Not for all tourists, but good local food on the cheaps

Most places are closed on Sundays for breakfast on Maui, except at the Tasty Crust; known for their famous pancakes (regular & banana), & they were good! Just seat yourselves either at one of the booths or at an open spot on one of the long tables. This is a great spot for locals

“No bells and whistles” is a great way to describe this place. It is what it is: a classic place to grab a meal at an awesome price. We came for breakfast and left full. Everything is a la carte, but still pretty cheap in comparison.

Local owned joint, with even more local food. Great portions, great food, great service. I love that every Sunday we've come in, the ladies working all have their football jerseys on representing their teams. You can tell they all love working with each other, and even if they don't want to be there that day, you would never know it. They're always cheerful, welcoming, and friendly. Love the staff.

Food is not that good. Ordered a waffle with strawberries, the strawberries were straight from a can. Come on Maui you can do better than this don't let the colonizers win by taking your autonomy to grow your own food. #defendHawaii

I'm a tourist but this felt like a genuine, non touristic restaurant, like we can see in TV series :).The food is mostly unhealthy (we were by the way the only people in the restaurant having chosen the salads), not fancy but it does the job, it was rather good and cheap.$24 for a two person lunch with salads and pancakes to share (they're so big).

I was disappointed after reading the reviews on how the food and service was exceptional. We arrived after returning from the road to Hana and were excited to try one of the meals suggested. We were told to sit anywhere and then were attended to shortly after. My wife and I decided to try a bacon cheese burger. Big mistake, the meat did not taste like hamburger. My wife believes the meat tasted old. The fries were delicious and crispy. The vibe was very local and we stood out like howlies... My experience was not good, especially when the hostess wishes everyone Happy Thanksgiving. All I get when paying for the bill is are you going to tip? I did very graciously, but shouldn't have. The owner needs to realize is the tourist and reviews are what will keep you open or closed. I hope this changes because I have a lot of followers.... Good luck.

The food was great but unfortunately there was a hair on my plate. Our server didnt come to check on us and we had to wave her down for a refill on our water. The chicken katsun tasted amazing!

The food is absolutely fantastic. And the service is absolutely wonderful. If you want an authentic local meal, and for a really good price, come here. My breakfast was 8 bucks, you can't beat that !!

Perfect Hawaiian food. It's not a new place but it's cheap, good portions and great service. Plate lunches, all day breakfast, lots of choice and served within minutes.

Good local hole in the wall family restaurant serving plate lunch and local dishes. This is a no frills, simple place that serves good simple.local food at decent prices. I thought the teriyaki beef was overcooked, but the rest was good. The onion rings were outstanding. It's worth trying if you are in the area, and it absolutely beats fast food.Support small businesses and give it a shot, but don't expect it to be what it isn't. If you are a tourist, or from another island, give it a try. This is real Hawaii.

This place is the best! A pillar in the community. Tasty Crust has been here for decades, and is still fantastic. I think it has to be the most reasonable place on island. Huge variety on the menu. Staff have always been very friendly and professional. Their banana pancakes are amazing! Definitely make time for Tasty Crust. Just go mid week, crazy busy on weekends.

Service was excellent and the food was fresh, made to order.Don’t expect anything other than lackluster venue but the prices are well worth it, especially on Maui.We went for breakfast, arrived close to 8:30am and there were plenty of tables, but not for long.Parking is plentiful, handicap accessible, cash only, ATM available.

Had the prime rib special last night 3/25/17, better than Outback's. Single hot cake, side salad with papaya seed dressing, mac salad, we always have to get. Locals comfort food...
